Melanie Dragger is a writer, editor, and book critic based in Austin, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in communication with a concentration in public relations and marketing from the University of Denver.
As a professional book critic for leading book review magazines, including Kirkus Reviews and American Library Association’s Booklist, she analyzes and writes critical assessments of nonfiction books in a variety of subgenres, including biographies and memoirs, art and photography, music, food and wine, travel, outdoors and nature, education, and current events and social issues. She is also founding editor of Literary West Review and a member of the National Book Critics Circle.
With more than 20 years of marketing and communication experience, as well as comprehensive knowledge of Associated Press and Chicago Manual styles, she also provides content writing and editing services for book publishers, university presses, educational institutions, professional service firms, and nonprofit organizations.
